Tball Game

Today was another Phillies' game. Sounds like we've been going to a whole series of them, but actually this is only the second game we've made it to, as we've been rained out and scheduling conflicts have occurred. We were excited to go again and see how the team has improved in the last month. They did pretty well, and the day was perfect for Tball. Nathaniel had more fun than last time, and I caught lots of smiles in photographs. Although he'd had enough of it by the end of the game and refused to bat last, it was a good game and a good time. Ariel did great too; paying much more attention than the other kids to the game.

Ariel's Recital

Ariel's recital on Saturday was adorable. The classes were rather big, and the stage was consumed with little girls dancing. They had loads of fun! Nathaniel was watching from the back row thru his "spyglass" to see better. I took lots of pics, but not many turned out at all, seeing as they were dancing around...

MawMaw & PawPaw came, as well as the Stumps. She was so happy we were there to watch her. But she has aquired a cough recently, so her dancing was riddled with some coughing moments here and there. But she did very well and was as focused as could be, which could not be said of all the girls. Great job Ariel!

Babysitting

Today I have Dominic and Gwendolyn over to play. Gwen was just getting a little fussy from being sleepy, so I wrapped her up in her blanket, held her close and within 30 seconds she was sound alseep. I love it when that happens! Isn't she so sweet?

The boys are running around being REALLY silly, and having lots of fun. Lots and lots of giggles! Here they're having fun smashing each other. Definately boys alright!

This Summer

Nathaniel is really starting to bloom concerning creativity. The other day he was having a hard time falling asleep, and he was playing in my bed with his bear. That night when I went to bed myself, this is what I found.

Apparently the bear needed to be in jail since he wouldn't sleep. What a punishment!

On Friday he brought a picture home from school. The theme they had drawn about was what they were going to do this summer. Well, as you can see, he knows exactly what is gonna happen. First, can you tell who or what the center object is? The one with the red spots. Yeah, it is a self portrait. Too funny! You see, the red spots are his pimples he has on his belly, and of course he has great big blue eyes & brown hair.

Now, the rest of the picture is interpreted like this; It is a hot, sunny day. There is a dragonfly (the thing with many wings), and to make the day perfect, he has a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, and the grill. I have to admit, I couldn't decipher this picture myself- he had to explain it to me, because I thought that it was an owl with a bug of some sort walking about, and a ball and an ice cream cone or something. But after he told me, it made sense. ; ) And he's decided, that for you, it's best viewed upside down.

Lititz

Yesterday we finally had a free day in which the weather was also decent, so we set out to have a mini adventure in a little town called Lititz. It is a quaint old town, being established by those displaced from the religious persecutions in Europe in the 1700s. For more pictures from another blog, click here.

We arrived after 10, looking first for the Julius Sturgis Pretzel Bakery. After looping around for a parking space, we entered a time capsule for a short tour of the bakery. We heard the story of the invention of the pretzel, and one might be surprised to find that this yummy creation began as a reward for children learning their prayers, 1400yrs ago. The three holes in the pretzels symbolize the Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Notably also, is the fact that the pretzel was given/ sold hanging opposite than what it is today. Again, indicating the Trinity. It was an interesting little place.

Next, we adventured down the street to see what we could find. Within a few minutes, we discovered a little toy shop, stopping to investigate, and then followed the sidewalk further to see what lay ahead. We found easily the Lititz Springs Park, which we took a break in, and then walked next door to the Wilbur Chocolate Factory. After stopping for lunch, we got some homemade ice cream at Greco's. YUM!

All in all, it was a great day and a lovely town. Two thumbs up!

SuperHero

Nathaniel loves to be a superhero. Especially when his little cousin, Dom is over to play with. They are a riot. Nathaniel loves to be chased, and Dominic loves to be part of the big kids' games.

Nat also like checking out his new green springy yard that is like a little enchanted forest now that the leaves have come in. And though I think the froggy rainboots are cute, I don't know what's with wearing the hat on the outside of the hood. But he thought it was best. (And those rocks you see are not our yard- it's our neighbors. It's extra green over there because they have a dog. ; ) Yes, our yards are tiny! But that is no different than Germany, and it's really much easier to stay on top of yard care!)
